Become A Eucharistic Minister or Lector

Holy Family is seeking Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers

Lector

The lector has the honor to proclaim the Word of God to the congregation at each Mass. The lector should have a good understanding of the scripture passages and then successfully communicate them to the congregation.

Extraordinary minister of the Holy Eucharist

Ordinary ministers of the Holy Eucharist are the priests and deacons. Assisting the clergy to distribute Holy Communion during Mass is the service of Extraordinary ministers. There is no ministry in the Church that holds a greater responsibility or privilege!

These ministries require a loving commitment. Deacon Bob Fangio will facilitate necessary training for both ministries. Once training is completed, you will be placed on a schedule that rotates on a three-month basis, normally serving about once a month.

If you have a calling to use your gifts and talents in this way or have any questions, contact Kris McGuire at kmcguire@holyfamilysyr.org  or call the Pastoral Center at 315-488-3139.
