Serving Teens in Grades 7th - 12th
Our mission at EDGE and Life Teen is to create a community in which middle school & high school youth can encounter Christ and begin an intentional relationship with Him while also building healthy connections with their peers in a safe environment. We strive to create an experience based on faith, friendship, and fun. All students in grades 7 - 12th are invited to join our EDGE and Life Teen communities Mondays from 6:30pm - 8pm. Each week we’ll enjoy some snacks and play some games/activities, dive into an important topic about our faith, grow in community with one another, and have time to encounter Jesus through prayer. Chosen: Journey to Confirmation
Sacramental Faith Formation Prep to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Diocese of Syracuse generally takes place when teens are in Grades 9 and Grades 10 - typically, teens will receive the Sacrament during their 10th Grade year after their second year of Sacramental Prep in our “Chosen: Journey to Confirmation” Program. That being said if you or someone you know is seeking confirmation and is in 11th or 12 grade - please contact Nick Longo at nick@holyfamilysyr.org to discuss it further. The prep for older kids can either happen as normal simply by joining alongside in classes with our 9th or 10th graders, but in some circumstances, it may be recommended that an older teen participate in our RCIA program.
Our classes for confirmation (not RCIA) will take place once a month on Wednesdays from 7 pm - 8 pm. The 9th Grade (Year 1 Group) will meet on the 1st Wednesday of the Month and our 10th Grade (Year 2 Group) will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the Month.
