Funeral Luncheon Ministry
The delicious homemade meals provided by the funeral luncheon ministry at Holy Family Parish truly define the term “comfort food.” Available to all parish members, the funeral luncheon ministry provides a complete, buffet-style luncheon in the church hall for family and friends following a funeral Mass. Coordinated by Joanne Dooley, the ministry includes six regular teams of volunteers who prepare hot dishes, set-up, serve and clean-up after the guests are gone. The parish provides meat trays, salads, and paper products. The family’s only responsibilities are to request a luncheon when making funeral arrangements and give the team an estimate of the number of guest expected. There is no cost to grieving families, although donations are always appreciated to help subsidize the cost of the food. Currently, the funeral luncheon ministry is looking to add several more teams to the rotation. If you are interested in leading a team in preparing food just a few times a month, or if you are willing to donate a hot dish when needed, please call the parish office at 488-3139.
